Amazing finds from Ribe
I 1247 rasende der krig mellem kong Erik Plovpenning og hans bror hertug Abel i Ribe, og to gange dette år skiftede byen herre. Mange ripensere døde i kampene – dræbt enten af sværdslag, bue og pil eller af den frygtelige armbrøst. Denne mand endte formentlig sine dage efter at sværdhug mod hovedet. Han blev begravet på Gråbrødre Klosters kirkegård.
